I want to pierce my ears, but after reading the example forms at Icingbyclaires.com it freaked me out a little

I want to get my ears pierced, but I have this fear of it. I hate unneccessary pain, but I want to start wearing cute earrings. I%26#039;ve sort of slowly been getting a tiny bit more convinced to do it, so I went on the Icing website to get the details. But, after reading the consent forms they have on the website, it%26#039;s gotten me a little freaked. I mean, it makes it sound like I%26#039;m going to go into a coma if I pierce my ears. %26quot;I understand that by piercing my ears it may cause, but it not limited to, infection, swelling, scarring, fainting, and other complications.%26quot; What are the other complications; death?! I know I%26#039;m freaking out, but has anything like this happened, or should I just calm down and get the guts to do it soon?

Iv had mine done lots! I also thought %26quot;oh no painnnnn%26quot; but honestly its that quick you barely notics, also i never had any swelling or infection problems. Go somewhere with a good reputation to have them done. Good luck!

Relax. The whole world pierces thousands of body parts every day and they do just fine. If it was that bad no one would do it. Cowgirl up.
Reply:Get the guts and calm down. There%26#039;s no way you%26#039;ll die from piercing your ear, lol. I have: first 2 lobes, cartlidge, (thats 3 in each ear), my tragus, my belly button, and I%26#039;m getting another in my ear (I forgot the name right now but I%26#039;m getting it in January), and I%26#039;m gonna get my nipple sometime. It%26#039;s totally worth the pain, and you%26#039;ll most likely want more :)

edit - also, they do it with a piercing gun. or, they should. it%26#039;ll be over so fast you wont feel a thing.
Reply:Well, my sister fainted in the middle of the mall when she got her ears pierced for the first time. But she also faints when she gets shots. I got mine pierced a few years ago, and I was fine. I don%26#039;t like pain either, but it doesn%26#039;t really hurt all that much or even for very long. You only feel pain for a few second, kind of like a pinch.





I think the only reason why people faint is because they get so worked up over it. It%26#039;s not tht bad and it doesn%26#039;t hurt that much.

Reply:Don%26#039;t worry about it! It barely hurts and only for a second. As for infections and scarring, that will only happen if you don%26#039;t care for the piercings properly afterward. If the thought of the pain really bothers you, bring an ice pack with you and numb your earlobes before the tech pierces them.
Reply:Ok, i have gotten my first hole re-pierced twice, first time when I was six and the other at 9. I also pierced my own ears 3 times and got my cartlaige done by claires. Let me tell you, it hurts when you do it yourself, and when you go get it done it feels like a pinch I swear. I do not like pain either but it really was not bad. It hurts for about two seconds. And if you really don%26#039;t want it to hurt as bad, ask them to do your ears at the same time, that way if it really really hurts one the first ear, and you don%26#039;t want the second one to be like that then it won%26#039;t happen. Oh and I recomend claires, because they are clean and nice. your ears will only get infected if you take your earings out to soon or do not clean them(they give you special stuff) also some people are allergic to metal (I am, and when I got my ears pierced I could only wear gold earrings) I grew out of that though in a few years. And let me tell you earrings are so cute, I love them, and personally if I were you I would get them. Lol sorry for the personal stories in there but yeah, hope I helped.
Reply:getting you ears peirced is no big deal.I%26#039;ve got mine peirced at Icing and I was fine. I have never hear of anything bad happen when getting their ears peirced. As for the pain it isn%26#039;t bad it only hufts for a few seconds.
Reply:The things that may happen when you pierce your ears are the side effects of getting a vaccine. So if you had a shot,its the exact same feeling. The only reason why I got infected is because I%26#039;m allergic to piercings. The infection really doesn%26#039;t hurt though, it just is itchy. If you go to claires, they give you this ear care antiseptic that helps if you do get infected even though it wasn%26#039;t made for infections.
Reply:Calm down. Things like that rarely happen. I got mine pierced when I was around 18/19 and I%26#039;d been scared aboout it years before I did it. When I got it done I discovered it was really FAR less painful and scary than a shot or a blood test.





As far as scarring from it goes, it rarely happens unless your prone to getting keloids (some members of darker races can develop keloids easily from ear peircing). Just make sure the person doing it sterilizes everything infront of you %26amp; make sure you approve of where they place the holes (aka. make sure they%26#039;re well proportioned) Also, don%26#039;t forget to pour the solution over the holes and rotate the earing twice a day and you%26#039;ll be okay.

Reply:I have gotten my ears pierced and i never had problems with them. But sometimes my ears get infected. Just get the hypoalergitic earrings and they shouldn%26#039;t get an infection. YOU WILL NOT DIE. Its ok just calm down. Und wont you enjoy wearing those pretty earrings?
Reply:i have gotten my ears pierced from claires(same as icing) and at other places as well and i think claires did the best and ive had no probs afterwards as well....u can do it!! just make sure u put the stuff they give u for ur ears to prevent any infections its good stuff too...
Reply:dont worry about a thing. i had my ears pierced since i was 2, got my seconds done when i was in second grade, got my thirds done when i was in 6th grade, got my cartilage done when i was in 5th grade, and now im gaging my ears. right now my seconds are 14g and my first are 10g. but im going up to a 8g maybe a 6g i dont know. but trust me it will be alright. it will hurt and it will hurt for a couple days after but is all worth it
